Located on the unceded ancestral homeland of many distinct communities of Native people, the San Francisco Bay Area is comprised of the nine counties surrounding the San Francisco Bay: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Solano, Sonoma, and San Mateo. The region is home to poets of diverse lineages who continue to collaborate and sustain one of the most vibrant literary cultures in the country.
